The winners of the Semi-final event in each discipline will take part in the MArteLive Biennial in October 2022 in Rome, Italy. They will also have the chance to participate in Art residencies and get relevant prizes.

Ixelles, Belgium

Opinion Public is a contemporary dance company that was created in Brussels in 2010. This collective is comprised of Etienne Béchard, Johann Clapson, Sidonie Fossé and Victor Launay. They have met through their education at the Rudra school and the Béjart Ballet Lausanne.
The choreographic work is based upon neo-classical and contemporary techniques. It is rich in movement, dynamism, pace, fluidity and it is particularly physically demanding. The floorwork as well as the partnering fall within the choreographic research.

Semifinalists selected Western, Central and Eastern Europe

Nina Plantefève Castryck

Antwerp, Belgium

Nina Plantefève-Castryck, 28 years old and coming from Belgium. Graduated from the Royal Balletschool of Antwerp. She worked as a professional dancer with Tanzcompanie Giessen, Tanzcompanie Landesbuhnen Sachsen and Conny Janssen Danst. She participated in the international solo festival Stuttgart and Gdańsk festival 2019 and was invited as a guest dancer for Tanzart Ost gala 2019 in Giessen and tanzart Ost 2020 with Irene Kalbusch. She worked on freelance projects with Korzo Theatre Den Hague and Zuhause Groningen.

Zsófia Safranka-Peti

Budapest, Hungary

Zsófia Safranka-Peti is a freelance dance artist from Budapest, Hungary. She worked with several hungarian and international creators like Zoltán Fodor, János Feledi, Dóra Barta, Noémi Kulcsár, Rita Góbi, Gabriella Kézér, Jill Crovisier. She performed in North and South America, Australia, Africa and European countries' stages. Zsófia is eager to learn different styles and techniques, participated in numerous international intensives She competed at Ljubljana Dancemeeting, VKIBC New York, Gdansk Solo Dance Contest and had an opportunity to show her works at Festival Cuerpo Al Descubierto and FIDCDMX Festival Mexico City, Ballet Grand Prix Vienna and IDTC Italy.

Valentin Mériot

Toulouse, France

Valentin started dancing at 16, in Vitry-sur-Seine, in hip-hop with Fouad Boussouf and the project TryËma, an amateur exchange with choreographer Lia Rodrigues and her young group Nucleo 2. Then, he trained at the Rencontres Internationales de Danse Contemporaine as a dancer and he continued at the Institut des Beaux-Arts de Toulous for his EAT in 2017 and returns to the RIDC where he receives his State Degree of contemporary dance teacher in 2019.

ETIENNE BECHARD

Etienne Béchard he was awarded a scholarship through which he began a more thorough training with Alexandra Clément and Jean-Gérald Dorseuil. At the age of sixteen, he joined the Ecole-Atelier Rudra Béjart before joining the Béjart Ballet Lausanne two years later. In 2009, he created the Passager Clandestin duet. in 2010, he founded the Opinion Public company. Since then, he was invited by the Ballet du Rhin, under the direction of Ivan Cavallari, to produce Cupidon s’en fout…. In 2017, he reran « Post Anima » with 15 dancers from the Tanz Konzert Theater Bern, under the direction of Estefania Miranda. In 2018 until 2020 he created « Mr Rabbit » and « Boléro » for the same company. In 2018, he was invited to produce «The Rite of Spring» for the Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal.

Collectif Minuit 12

The Minuit 12 Collective was created in May 2021. It involves multidisciplinary artists (contemporary dance, hip-hop, waacking, classical, photography, scenography, music, drawing, design, animation…) committed to an art project for the environment.
We use dance, images and bodies to create sensorial experiences on the themes of climate and ecology. We work on stage productions (a show), audiovisual productions (video series) and photographic productions.
