The artistic residencies took place in 2021 in Lithuania and in the summer of 2022 in Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy. This phase was reserved for 8-16 artists selected from the winners of each semi-final.
The artistic residencies lasted one week each: the selected artists lived together and created a multidisciplinary performance presented during an event at the end of the week and also special events during the Biennale MArteLive in Rome, Italy, in October 2022.
The whole experience will be documented and shared on MArteLive Europe’s social media channels and website.

The Blue Area art residency was held in “Muška voda” Hotel in Kladanj municipality 50km south of Tuzla from 14 to 17 October.
The hotel is located in the natural resort providing ideal conditions for creative expression. The present nine artists and our host team member spent three full days gathering inspiration and devising creative ideas and concepts. They visited local historic and intact nature sites that provided artistic stimulus and greatly bonded the group. The results were amazing – two street-art murals, one conceptual installation and several melodies composed – all with themes revolving around current state of humanity and its reflection towards nature, progress and evolution on this planet.
The Yellow Area art residency was held in “Kintai Arts Residency” in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The participating artists are Mantas Narkevičius, Anushka Chkheidze, Annika Kompart, Diana Remeikytė, Simonas Bernotas and Juho Luukkainen.
At the end of the residency, the artists had gathered visual material, prepared prototypes of their works and sketched a plan for their pavilion.
